Once your Invisalign case is approved by one of our experts, Invisalign will create your clear aligners, which you will change out weekly (coming to see us periodically along the way for check-ins) until treatment is complete.

Invisalign is a tool that allows you to straighten your teeth and align your bite properly by using a series of clear, removable aligners. The aligners are made from a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack, which was created exclusively for Invisalign.
Today, there is no such thing as a case too complex for Invisalign. Invisalign is a tool that is just as capable as traditional braces when treated by the right person. The success of complex cases ultimately depends on the treating doctor’s skill and experience level, not the Invisalign technology itself. So. if you’re told you’re not a candidate, don’t ditch Invisalign, ditch the doctor.
Many dental insurances offer coverage for Invisalign treatment just the same as traditional braces.
This depends on how complex your case is, but typically anywhere from 3 months to 1 year. You will begin noticing results in only a few weeks though!
No, Invisalign should not be painful. However, new trays are tight and may cause discomfort for the first several hours of wear as your teeth acclimate to the new positioning. Most find that after the first day, any type of discomfort has subsided.
Ideally, you will be wearing each set of aligners 20-22 hours per day and changing to a new set of aligners every 5 days to 2 weeks (depending on the speed of treatment determined by your doctor.)
Drinking water while wearing your Invisalign aligners is totally fine! However, it is advised to remove your aligners before eating/drinking anything else to avoid causing cavities or staining the aligners.
People find that they talk with a slight lisp at the very beginning of treatment, but this quickly subsides as you acclimate to the aligners in your mouth. Most find they are talking normally again as quickly as 24-48 hours after wearing their aligners.
You can enjoy the results of your Invisalign treatment forever, as long as you wear your retainers! Since teeth have memory, it is strongly recommended that you wear the set of retainers given to you each night once you’re finished with Invisalign to preserve your results indefinitely.

Time is another difference, with braces requiring up to two years of treatment, while dental Invisalign can straighten your teeth in as little as one year.
